Daily Quick Tip #2 - Flushing

One of the symptoms of Prednisone is flushing in the face and chest. While flushing is by far not the worst side effect of Prednisone it can be an annoying one lol. Flushing makes you feel really hot - especially on your face - and your cheeks, face, and chest will become pretty red. Honestly, it feels a lot like a hot flash that sticks around. It's not an easily avoidable side effect but there are a few things you can do to minimize the heat and redness.

- Apply a cold, wet washcloth to the areas that are red. You can apply this often just don't do it so much that you chap your skin.

- Keep yourself well hydrated.

- Keep yourself cooled down in a cool bath or well air-conditioned room.

- Try not to rub or lay on your face too long.

- If you are a female, you can even use makeup to hide some of the redness. Of course, this doesn't help with the heat lol.

- Eating something cold like ice cream or a popsicle. (Man, you don't gotta tell me twice to eat some ice cream!)

If you are experiencing Flushing you are certainly not alone! I hope a few of these techniques will help you to feel nice a cooled down:) If you have anything that works for you, please let us know:)
